Are you worried about gaining weight from pasta? You don't have to when choosing the right types

Bojíte sa priberania z cestovín? Pri výbere vhodných druhov nemusíte

Traditional pasta is high in carbohydrates and low in protein. This is not desirable when exercising and trying to lose weight. However, if you replace it with whole-grain pasta or other low-calorie varieties, you don't have to worry about gaining weight.

Pasta is a staple food in many parts of the world. Its popularity is growing in our country as well, as it is a relatively cheap and easy way to enhance your diet.

Statistical data confirm that potato consumption in Slovakia has decreased by half since 1993. Their place has been taken by pasta - durable products made from unleavened dough using flour and water (or eggs).

Classic versus whole wheat pasta: what are their benefits for our health?

On average, pasta contains 75% carbohydrates, 12% protein, 10% water and a minimal amount of fat. The amount of fiber depends on the type of flour it is made from (but can be increased by adding vegetables). Classic white flour pasta contains few nutrients and, unfortunately, we quickly become hungry after it.

This is due to the high content of fast sugars. Therefore, the path to health and optimal body weight does not lead to white flour pasta, but to its whole-grain version, which is recommended primarily by nutritionists.

Are you afraid of gaining weight?

The very name of pasta suggests that it is made from whole grains (all its parts), and therefore it contains many more substances beneficial to the body. Whole grain pasta contains a lot of fiber, which maintains a feeling of satiety and benefits our digestive tract , which can be especially appreciated by people suffering from constipation.

In general, whole-grain pasta is high in B vitamins (especially B1, B2, and B3) and minerals (calcium, phosphorus, zinc, and iron). However, the nutrient content varies slightly depending on the type of whole grain used.

Choose correctly!

For example, rye pasta has a high content of fiber, while spelt pasta is rich in protein, vitamins B and E. The rare essential amino acid lysine is found in amaranth pasta . It helps absorb calcium, affects the growth and development of bones, and supports the formation of brain cells.

Graham pasta, with its carbohydrate composition and fiber content, helps regulate blood cholesterol, stabilizes sugar concentration (glycemia) and metabolism. Due to its many benefits for our body, the consumption of whole grain pasta is recommended. Overall, it helps reduce the risk of diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer.

Do you know other non-traditional types of pasta?

In addition to the more familiar types of whole-grain pasta, there are some less familiar types on the market today (buckwheat or chickpea) . People suffering from celiac disease have gluten-free options available.

For example, in health food stores you can find low-calorie pasta that contains up to 94% fewer calories than regular pasta. This is thanks to a unique combination of oat fiber and konjac flour, which is known not only for its many health benefits but also for its significant weight loss effects.

This pasta is sugar-free, gluten-free and salt-free, making it a suitable part of the diet for diabetics, celiacs and vegetarians. Even in the field of fitness nutrition, you can eat pasta without regrets or wasting time spent on honest training.

What type of pasta are we talking about?

About protein pasta, which is characterized by a very high protein content and low carbohydrate content, which is very popular in the fitness industry. Compared to classic pasta, pasta lovers do not have to limit themselves even during the "drawing" period.

Pasta makes you gain weight: truth or myth?

The old rumor that pasta makes you gain weight has, fortunately, been dispelled. However, pasta should be whole grain. If you want to live a healthy life and not gain unnecessary pounds, in addition to choosing the right pasta, pay attention to its preparation and the amount consumed.

Italy is currently the country with the highest consumption of pasta. According to some experts on healthy lifestyle, pasta is the cause of belly fat. However, an analysis of pasta consumption in 23,000 Italians showed that people who regularly eat pasta have less belly fat, but it must be in a reasonable amount.

Italians eat them mainly with vegetables, nuts and olive oil, and it is this combination that contributes to weight loss. "By analyzing anthropometric data for all individuals and their eating habits, we found, contrary to expectations, that pasta consumption is not related to weight gain, quite the opposite.

"Our data confirm that consuming pasta in accordance with an individual's needs contributes to a healthy figure, a slimmer waist and a better waist-to-hip ratio," said Dr. George Pounis from the Neuromed Institute in Pozzilli.

And don't forget that with ADI-PEX the pounds will go down even faster :)
